KIDS PRAY

When Should We Pray with Our Kids?
1. In times of giving thanks, ie. before meals, when God answers a prayer request you've been praying together as a family
2. In times of need, ie. a sickness, during stress, worry, or fear
3. Before bed or after breakfast are also wonderful times to pray together as a family
These are just 3 ideas, really you can pray ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, for ANYTHING!

Teaching Kids to Praise God
An important part of prayer is praising and thanking God for what He has done and who He is.
Create an alphabetical "God is..." Journal with your kids. Look at kids magazines or flyers that came in the mail and cut out words that describe God. Each kid can make their own, or make one as a family. I suggest using "ex-" words on the X page. Also this is most likely a long term project to be done over the course of a year, as you will probably not find enough words to fill your pages right away. |
Materials:
1. A basic 4x6 picture book that you can buy at Jo-ann's, Dollar Tree, or many other places.
2. Pictures of the people or things your child wants to pray for.
Do any editing to the pictures that you'd like, then get them printed. Add them to your book and then pray!

Prayer Journals for Older Kids
Kids can make prayer journals in the same way as adults, but it's fun to decorate them too! These amazing journals came from Clubhouse Magazine by Focus on the Family. They're made from composition books!
